Investiture Ceremony 2017

Great leaders dont set out to be leaders; they set out to make a difference. Its never about the role - always about the goal." Lisa Haisha

On the fine morning of 21st April, 2017, our most deserving talent was bestowed with the precious responsibilities of leading School with competence, commitment confidence and responsibility.

The occasion marked the announcement of the Student Council 2017-18, both senior and junior. It is one of the most momentous occasions of a students life, when members of the School student council are vested with their badges of authority and accountability. The young leaders are expected to set new benchmarks for the others, motivating and guiding them.

The solemn occasion was initiated with a song- by the School choir, set to a sublime fusion of classical and folk music. This was followed by a dance- drama highlighting the atrocities against women in today's society. This presentation was conceived by the dance teachers and aimed to remind everyone of this acute social concern.

Principal, Ms. Tania Joshi, addressed the gathering. She urged the new office-bearers to shoulder their responsibilities with dedication and become competent custodians of their School in every respect.

Ms. Madhavi Divan, Member of the School Governing Board and the brain the behind the Citizenship programme, addressed the audience. She spontaneously congratulated the music and dance departments for the performances and particularly expressed how delighted she was to see a different set of children displaying their talents on stage each time. This, she said is a wonderful reflection of the way the teachers are constantly training multiple children and generations of children qt School. Ms. Divan reminded the students to pursue their inclinations even whilst remaining continuously cautious of their responsibilities. She said she hoped the new Council will carry the Citizenship programme to greater heights.

The old council then marched up the aisle smartly, as a procession, on a marching song and by turn handed in their hoists. The new council then took charge of these as they smartly mounted the dais. The members then stood to attention, as it were, as they were administered the School pledge by the Head Boy. They promised to take collective responsibility and use their authority with integrity etc.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks and the School song.

It was indeed a defining moment for every member of the august student body. We believe that these young leaders will uphold the values of School and keep the honour of The Indian Schools loftily foisted.

The programme was competently compered by Shweta Singh of class XII B and Akshat Sharma of class XI E.

Ms. Priya Arun.
