We attended the Junior Flash Inter- School Computer Competition 2014 hosted by the teachers of the Raghubir Singh Junior Modern School in collaboration with NIIT. The competition comprised varied events designed to draw out the talent of the young computer geek!
18 schools from across Delhi participated in the event, namely, Summer Fields, Mother's International, Ramjas, New Green Field, St. George's, Gyan Bharati, Apeejay Pitam Pura, Guru Harkrishan Public, Bluebells, Cambridge Srinivaspuri, Tagore International Vasant Vihar, Birla Vidya Niketan, Air Force Bal Bharti, Delhi Public School East Of Kailash, Springdales Pusa Road, Amity International Saket besides the hosts and us. The event was divided into 7 categories. Young Painter:- Students had to draw a village scene in Microsoft Paint 2007. Our Participant:- Yuvraj Acharya (IV) Slide Wizards:- Teams were given some images, audio and video files and had to compile a presentation on the Solar System in MS Powerpoint. Participants:- Vanshika(IV) and Harsheen Kaur (V). Sprinkle Thoughts:- Teams were provided with a theme on the spot, to create a poster using clip art, word art of MS Word. Participants:- Jiya (IV), Prabhleen Kaur (IV) The Churning Minds:- a quiz on current topics from Information Technology. Participants:- Arya (V) and Arshita (IV). Race against Time:- the participant was given an on- the- spot- topic Applications of Computer for Extempore. Participant:- Avreen Kaur(V) Decorating Canvas:- Participants had to draw and colour on a given topic in MS Paint. Participant:- Pratul Gupta(II) Fun with Turtle:- Teams had to draw shapes on on a Traffic Scene using the PC Logo.
