Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations
Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed every year on 26 July to commemorate those brave indian soldiers who fought for more than two months with Pakistans paramilitary forces regaining control of the high outposts which were surreptiously occupied by lost them earlier. This year we completed 20 years of this momentous victory.
Students of The Indian School paid homage to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the motherland. A special assembly was conducted where students of classes I to XII listened to the Kargil Tribute Song. The students were also shown a movie on Kargil which gave them an insight into the various operations undertaken by the army during the war. The movie showed how our brave soldiers gave a tough fight to the infiltrators. Anshika Sharma, student of class XII gave an introduction about the Kargil war sharing some important details. Tanya Trehan of class XI presented a self-composed poem on the subject. Tushar Karthikeyan of class XII organised a quiz based on the war.
