Learning alternate art at an art museum

A team of talented art students of The Indian School participated in "Expressions - an Art Conclave" organised by Birla Vidya Niketan in collaboration with the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art on 12 February 2019. The workshop was held at the museum from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The conclave saw the participation of budding artists of classes 3 and 4 of several prominent schools of Delhi.

A tour of the museum was conducted for the students. The group viewed a carnival of canvasses by the figurative artist and a modernist, Arpita Singh, whose works showcase a strong storyline. A powerpoint presentation of her works completed the educational sojourn.

Henceforth, the creative juices of the imaginative artists flowed freely and fiercely through three different art forms-Canvas painting, Sculpture with shilpkar clay and Mix Media. The eager learners were provided with references and art material to give shape to their artistic cravings. Their efforts threw up interesting displays of two-dimensional sculptures on the theme- " My favourite animal" and colourful collages, aesthetically put together.
