Literary Week in Pre Primary

Literary Week took place at School between 25th and 29th April 2016. Our little ones, at the pre-primary level, participated in their own special way. Several stories were narrated to the children. Some of these were from Africa, the current theme at School and included tales such as Spider and the Honey Tree, Handas Surprise and Fadhilas Secret. Different modes such as role play, puppetry and story videos were used to relate these stories. The students listened with curiosity and with fascination and were quick to answer questions put forth to them during the stories. Besides being entertained, the children picked up on a lot of new words and pronunciation techniques.

Besides story-telling, the children were kept busy with several other activities too. They created little finger and stick puppets for their story-telling sessions and crafted imaginative bookmarks. They also paid a visit to the School library. They seemed fascinated by the large display of books and were explained in simple terms how the library functions. They sight of older children sitting and quietly reading books of their own intrigued them and many were keen to follow suit! We assured them that it wouldnt be long before they would be doing the same. The Literary Week turned out to be an engaging experience for our little ones who were delighted every moment!
