Literary Week in the Primary.

"Genius does what it must Talent does what it can."

The Literary Week culminated with precisely fulfilling the above observation, as our little prodigies brought out some splendid performances, showcasing the literary week effort from 20 /4/15 to 24/4/15.

A display of book jackets by class V and limericks by class IV set the tone for the final showcasing of the literary week. The show commenced in the morning at 9 am with classes IV and V in attendance. Each class from I to V showcased their work with the help of their representatives, each speaking on different topics assigned to them during the week.

Class I presented a choral recitation on Kites. The little ones were confident, enthusiastic and disciplined. They marched up on stage, arranged themselves in perfect rows and recited in full gusto .They were followed by a beautiful enactment by students of class II D of a story from Panchatantra. Class III presented a short poem on good writing and punctuation. We hope that, through this poem they will remember to space and form letters perfectly and remember to punctuate!

Class IV presented the importance of "swar and vayanjan". They also highlighted the literary work of the great authors like Premchand, Tagore etc. This was followed by a hilarious skit based on a short story by Harivansh Rai Bachchan. The last presentation was by class V with a brain teaser, "Who am I?". A few students spoke on famous authors like R.K. Narayan, Sudha Murthy and the audience had to guess the authors. Bhuvi Kashyap soulfully sang "Ekla Chalo" by Rabindra Nath Tagore mesmerising all those present in the hall.

Last but not the least was the much- awaited " Meet The Author" session with noted writer, Ms. Anupa Lal who writes stories for children. Students were delighted to see her and recognised her from her visit last year. Their excitement was evident as they displayed great keenness in striking up a conversation with her. Students listened to the narration of an African tale with great interest and amusement, itching to ask questions to gain Ms. Lal's attention!

Literary Week was educative, interesting and interactive. Students learnt important aspects of literature, recited, enacted, drew and learnt all week through.
