Literary with Latin America

A special assembly by middle school. A special assembly on 27 April 2012 for the students of classes 4 and 5 Students marked Literary Week. A traditional tale, The Magical Forest, from the Takuna tribe of Latin America was used as the theme. It is a tale of a little girl, Chimidyue and is one of the forest odyssey-tales commonly found in many parts of the land of the Amazon. It is especially interesting that the Takuna version of the tale is unique in that it has a female protagonist!

Chitvan, Vanya Chadha, Prerna Sahni, Khushi Malik, Arjun Dev, Saksham Batra, Randhir Manchanda, Kriti Bajaj, Saumya Sharma, Sidhant Sood, Vanshika Parekh, Pratyksha Gupta, Ifrah and Kiranjyot from class 5 alongwith Twisha , Khushi Kedia, Krishna and Divija Puri from class 4 made a worthy group which mounted the story of Chimidyue on stage. A few of the narrated, whilst others recited verse-insertions and yet others sang. The actors were well prepared and articulated with emotion.

This was followed by Samiksha Nair, Shubhanjay, Saumi Lahri, Saksham Chanana, Vani Bhardwaj, Tanish Arora, Vedika Gupta, Shubhanjay Shrivastava, Gurmehar Gulati and Kartikey Mehra of class 3 reciting the poem Close your Eyes by Randhir Khare.

An Assamese dance by the girls and boys of class 5A was also showcased on the occasion as it was the special effort of our little choreographer, Dhriti Chatterjee also of 5A.
