Lohri celebrations in Pre primary

Lohri was celebrated with fervour and enthusiasm on 12th January18 in the Pre primary department.

The teachers demonstrated the traditional rituals that accompany the festival across north India as the children gathered to watch. This included the customary invocation around the fire with offerings of nuts and popcorn.

The children then made cards in the classroom to take home. They drew crayon images of the celebration as they recollected it- the bonfire, the dholki etc.

Lohri is a ritual of thanksgiving for the bounty of Gods abundance and the children were told its story and explained its simple yet timeless message.
