Mathemania

We, a group of seven Indianites, viz., Anushka Saxena, Vidhi Wadhwa, Kartik Anand, Arjun Mehra, Manav Arora, Prakhar Gupta and Manpreet Singh Ajmani from classes VI to XII were shortlisted by our Math teacher to represent our School at MATHEMANIA, a Mathematics event hosted by Gyan Bharti School, Saket on 16th May, 2015. The fest was a keenly contested affair which saw a spirited participation of students from 17 distinguished schools of Delhi. For the students of classes 6-8, the events were SUDOKU and Poster-Making. While the SUDOKU event tested logic and number skills, the poster-making assessed the ability to find mathematics in art and architecture around us. Our students showcased the Math behind the famous landmark, the Humayuns Tomb, sketching its design and highlighting the concepts behind it. For classes 9 and 10, a written test was conducted challenging the mathematical faculties and testing for in-depth knowledge. Six teams qualified and moved on to the final round of the QUIZ. It was an engaging affair where apart from the participants; the audiences were also kept completely involved. The event MATHE-E-MAZE- the mathematics written test- was organised for the students of classes 11 and 12 which included the testing of mathematical reasoning and analytical skills.
