The Mathematical Society of Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram hosted its annual Math Symposium, "Mathematical Crusade" on 20 December, 2014.
The event showcased a plethora of mathematical activities. The programme consisted of a Math Quiz, Mathematical model-making and a surprise event which tested the logical faculties of the young minds.
Danish Safdar and Sourav Gupta of class 11, Pulkit Goyal class 10, Saranshika S. Dhariwal of class 9 and Shlok Tyagi of class 11 participated. Their model showcased the " Use of Trigonometry in harnessing solar power".
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. Atul Nischal, Managing Director of Elipsis Consulting. Dr. Amitabha Tripathi, Professor of Mathematics, IIT Delhi, graced the occasion as a guest lecturer. He enlightened everyone with an insight into prime numbers.
The exhibition of Mathematical models was displayed by the host school and as was also showcased, the movie The Genius of Srinivasa Ramanujan.
