Mega Fit India Campaign

It was a proud moment for our School to be invited to participate in the Mega Fit School Campaign. The event was organised by the Action Committee of Unaided Recognised Private Schools, under the Fit India Movement launched by honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. Several schools of Delhi have joined hands to promote the initiative under the tagline, "If we are fit, we are a hit". Around 3,000 students representing schools across the state participated in the mega event.

15 Students of class IX of The Indian School attended the event on the morning of 26 December 2019 at the Chhatrasal Stadium, Model Town. They were accompanied by their Physical Education teacher, Ms. Sahodra Pawaiya. Mr. Vijay Goel, MP and former minister of Youth Affairs and Sports was the chief guest at the ceremony.

The programme started with an impressive band played by a group of students from ten schools and a march past of all participating students. The warm up done, there were demonstrations of yoga, aerobics and pyramids. Students of Mount Abu School displayed a series of beautiful aerobic exercises. Hop Skip and races of different kinds were held for students of classes KG to I. The tiny tots participated in the activities with a lot of enthusiasm.

As technology has greatly contributed to a sedentary lifestyle in the present generation, the campaign was aimed at drawing people at large, including students back to becoming conscious of and making physical activity an inseparable part of their lives.
