Mega tree plantation drive

The Indian School participated in the annual tree plantation drive launched by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal under the Green Action Plan 2023 on 28 February 2023 from 4 pm onwards at Bella Farms in Usmanpur village.

Ms Sarah Khanna and Ms Mridula Tewari, social studies and Hindi teachers, respectively, represented the School at this green event by planting two saplings each. Thousands of private and government school teachers from Delhi joined them in this green initiative. As a result, the participants planted around 10,000 saplings of trees, and 33,895 shrubs, provided by the NDMC, on the vast fields of Bella Farms.

In his address, the chief minister said that, apart from the massive plantation, the people should also work on reducing pollution. He also shared that last year, the government surpassed its target of planting 42 lakh saplings and this year's goal is to plant 53 lakh saplings. The drive, which usually takes place during the monsoon, has been undertaken in February to meet the increase in target.

The event culminated with a vote of thanks to all the dignitaries for their support and guidance.
