Mother's Day celebration in Pre primary

It is rightly said that a mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take.

Mothers Day, especially dedicated to cherish motherhood was observed in great elation at The Indian School on 13 May, 2023. The mothers of students in Pre-Primary were invited for a celebration at School with their bundles of joy. The venue was bedecked and the assembly was a sea of colour and happy vibes.

The event commenced with a welcome address by Ms Vandana Tiwari, Head Teacher- Primary, who spoke about the role of a mother in the upbringing of children.

Dr Trisha Gupta, noted psychiatrist and invitee, explained the mother-child relationship and the role of the mom as her child navigates the journey of growing up.

A series of activities were organised to honour the loving moms.. The young students sang songs and danced for them I love you mommy, Meri mummy pyari hai and Baby shark do doo, were some of the melodies that tugged at the heartstrings.

Senior peers from class V presented a nukkad natak on the occasion to spread awareness on the hazardous use of plastic in our daily lives. The presentation concluded with suggestions on how to make the environment clean using the 3 Rs.

The young hosts of Pre Primary presented handcrafted souvenirs using waste material, to their beloved moms. Fun filled games like identifying old melodies and writing the alphabet in reverse kept the mothers delighted. Infact the moms got a chance to demonstrate their skills with flourish for their darling cherubs! Exciting prizes like handmade candles were presented to the enterprising mothers who won. These gifts were handmade by the older students under the aegis of the School Citizenship Programme.

To capture these endearing moments, many mothers clicked pictures with their little ones against the banner and buntings that decorated the hall.

Last but not the least, our little stars with the help of their teachers, served their mothers, refreshments The moms were overwhelmed to see their children attempting the act of hospitality to perfection!

It was a day to cherish as the children learnt the precious value of bonds of love and nurturing as they celebrated a special relationship.
