Movie as edutainment for Pre primary

Students of Preschool and Pre-primary were taken to watch The Jungle Book in a cinema closeby on 3rd and 4th August 2016. The objective of the excursion was to enable them to develop better social and language skills.

Outings like these also teach our youngest ones about how they must conduct themselves when amidst other people. The movie in English also provided an opportunity filled with entertainment for them to pick up skills in this language!

The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling tells the tale of Mowgli, a young Indian boy, who, straying from his village, ends up being taken in by a pack of wolves and living among these creatures of the forest. The children were captivated by the protagonist Mowgli and were amazed to see him, a human child like them, live amidst the wild animals in the jungle and adapt to jungle life so easily.

The outing was a great hit and the children enjoyed themselves immensely. Popcorn and a drink were the cherry on the cake and relished! We intend to include more such exercises in edutainment in the curriculum to make the learning continuously exciting.
