Multiple Spotfixes by The Citizenship Programme for Independence Day
On 15th August 2016, a group of 10 students and 5 teachers set out to spotfix 6 different locations in South Delhi which had been vandalised by posters of the DU election campaign. The groups were as follows :-
1. Chirag Delhi Flyover Tushar Sir with Mayank Khatri, Anmol Singh and Meharpreet Singh
2. Moolchand Flyover Nausheen Maam with Bareen Zehra, Ifra Ali and Anish
3. Ansal Plaza subway & Southex Flyover Nidhi Bindra Maam, Simran Narula and Raunaq Maini
4. Lajpat Nagar Flyover and Andrews' Ganj Flyover Kajal Soni Maam, Ms. Sangeeta Aswani, Isha Sharma and Kusum Navariya.

In approximately two hours, all the spots had been cleaned and the posters had been removed. In fact something delightful transpired as the children were persevering away! One Mr. Gopal Verma, GM of the Noida Toll Bridge Company Limited (NBTCL) passed by the Moolchand Flyover and stopped in his amazement to ask about the work being done by the students there. He was overwhelmed and stepped out of his car and to spend time with and appreciate the industrious young people. The next day, he was also kind enough to call up School and convey his appreciation for the effort had had seen. A congratulatory email was also received.
Undoubtedly, these spontaneous acts of encouragement and recognition give the children renewed motivation to do what it takes, as it were, to make a difference to their city.
