MUN, 2014

On the 3rd, 4th and 5th of July, 2014, the students and some alumni of our School, organized the Schools first ever Intra-MUN. ( Mock United Nations). The Indianite MUN 2014, was conducted across four committees- the UN General Assembly, the UN Human Rights' Commission, the CIA and the UEFA. Students of classes IX, X, XI, and XII participated as delegates belonging to the four committees and as members of the International Press. The following agendas were discussed -

UN General Assembly - The Ukraine Crisis with special emphasis on Partition Policy; UN Human Rights Commission - Girl Education in the Middle East with special emphasis on the Nigerian Crisis CIA- Operation Neptune Spear - The Killing of Osama Bin Laden UEFA - Racism and Goal Line Technology

Delegates from all four committees worked towards debating the many aspects of the given agendas. The UNGA committee discussed the shifting NATO and CIS alliances; the UNHRC Committee discussed the many causes of hatred towards Western Education and the workings of the terrorist organization Boko Haram, while the UEFA Committee successfully managed to reach a resolution towards bringing down racism in the great game of football.

Students were also subjected to surprise press conferences conducted by the International Press, which provided a fresh perspective to the day's events by bringing up issues not being discussed in the committee.

The event ended with the closing ceremony where the best delegates from each committee were felicitated Principal, Mrs. Joshi and other senior members of the teaching staff. We are grateful for the guidance and assistance we received from our teachers. We also heartliy congratulate the participating delegates on their first- ever MUN experience and thank them for their monumental efforts in making this event a success.
