Music Quiz-Pre primary classes

A music quiz was organised for the children of Pre school and Pre primary on 12th February 2016 in the auditorium. Five teams were selected to participate in the quiz. The teams comprised children from both classes. The quiz was led by music teacher, Mr. Amit Vaid. The teams underwent 5 elimination rounds. Each round had a piece of music belonging to a particular genre. The genres included devotional songs, western music, Indian music and patriotic songs. There was also a visual round. Several tunes were played from each genre. As the music teacher played a tune, the children from each team had to guess the song and sing it aloud.

The winning team was awarded two points for each correct guess. It didnt take long for those in the audience to join in too and the atmosphere turned became very lively. Mr. Vaid played an interesting range of pieces. From amongst the devotional songs, tunes such as Teri Hai Zameen and Om Bhur Bhuva Swaha were played. In the Indian music round, the tunes Ek Pal Jo Beet Gaya and Suraj Nikla Hua Saveraresonated through the hall. A tune from the western music round If you are happy and you know it had everybody tapping their feet. The patriotic category included songs such as Kadam Kadam Badae Ja and I salute my Flag which everyone enjoyed immensely. During the visual round, several musical instruments were placed in front of the participants who had to identify them. Finally, after the 5 rounds, team D was declared the winning team. Pehal Sharma of PP ORION and Ayaan Singh Chopra of PS HERCULE received special prizes for their enthusiastic involvement. The show concluded with a surprise distribution of sweets and chocolates to every participant and also the audience. Ms. Charu Pruthi.
