National Science Centre exposes school children to nuclear energy as a medium for peace
National Science Centre, Delhi, organised an educational programme on the theme Atom for Peace from 22nd to 26th August, 2022. The programme was organised in association with the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL), a public sector enterprise under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. Our School students got the privilege of participating in two events dated 22nd and 23rd August.
On the first day, a sit and draw competition was held, where 10 students from the middle school and 8 students from the senior level participated . The theme alternate sources of energy was assigned on the spot . Our students showcased their creativity and prepared vibrant pieces of art in 2 hours. Here, Shiksha Dwivedi (VIII-E) won the First Prize in the poster making competition.
On 23rd August, a quiz on the topic Nuclear Science was held in which 19 students from the middle and senior levels from our School. Dhruv Kashyap (XI-A), Aviral Gupta (X- B), and Dhairya Singh Bist (IX-D) came in for appreciation. The quiz was aimed at widening their perspectives by encouraging them to think in diversity.
After the event, the students were given a chance to explore the National Science Centre. They viewed several exhibits and seemed absorbed in what they demonstrated.
