Nature Walk, Pre-primary
"God made you, God made me.
God made trees, God made leaves.
God says: please take care of these.."
Its always fun to help and be with our green friends as they help to keep our environment clean, in purifying air and giving us oxygen to survive.
The Pre-primary Orion section had real fun time on their visit to the neighbourhood park on 3 July 13 i.e. Wednesday morning at 7:45 a.m. The nature walk broadened their knowledge and gave them firsthand familiarity of herbs, shrubs and trees.
They took a deep breathe and were told about how we all inhale Oxygen (good air) and exhale Carbon-di-oxide(bad air), while, plants, on the other hand, inhale Carbon di-oxide and exhale Oxygen. Therefore it is good for us to be in the midst of greenery often.

The children were shown the difference between a tree and a plant and the different types of plants. They were made to feel the texture and observe the varying shapes of different leaves. They learnt to articulate the differences they observed.
Soon they were asked to be silent and put their ears to, carefully listen to the sounds around them. They promptly came up " car, helicopter, bike, birds", etc.
They were told that we should never throw trash on the ground as it makes for an unclean and unhygienic place. Several promptly popped up with " Ma'am, in the dustbin"!
As the weather was bracing in the morning, the children thoroughly enjoyed the open- air outing in the lap of green.
