PM-VBRY Incentive Disbursement Programme at Vigyan Bhawan
The Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, organised the incentive disbursement programme under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on 19 June 2026. The event brought together over 250 participants, including government officials, employers, industry representatives and beneficiaries of the scheme. Ms Shipra, representing The Indian School, attended the programme and gained valuable insights into one of the Government of India's flagship employment initiatives.
The event highlighted the objectives and progress of PM-VBRY, a flagship initiative designed to promote employment generation, enhance employability and expand social security coverage, with a special focus on the manufacturing sector. The scheme provides financial incentives to first-time employees while encouraging employers to create additional job opportunities. The programme also featured a keynote address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who highlighted the initiative's achievements, stating that nearly 70 lakh jobs have been generated under PM-VBRY. He also highlighted that more than 2,000 crore had been transferred directly to beneficiaries, recognising their contribution to the nation's growth and encouraging greater participation in the formal workforce. The programme also explained the two key components of the scheme. Part A provides financial support to first-time employees registered with the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), while Part B offers incentives to employers for creating additional employment. Together, these measures aim to facilitate the creation of over 3.5 crore jobs and strengthen social security coverage across the country.
The event offered valuable insights into the Government of India's vision for employment generation, youth empowerment and inclusive economic growth. It underscored the importance of creating sustainable livelihood opportunities while advancing the nation's goal of building a Viksit Bharat.
