Power of the Pen: Tagore at 150, 20 January 2012
20 January had the students of classes 9 and 10 participate in a competition named "Power of The Pen: Tagore at 150" held at INTACH, Lodi Estate. Kriti Dang and Sanchari Banerjee, both of class 10 chose the essay-writing competition and Tanya Gauba, class 10 with Garvit Kala, class 9 preferred to pitch at the art competion. All topics were taken from the life and and literature of Gurudev Rabindranath.
The inaugural speech was by Dr. S. Chakravarti, professor of English Literature at Delhi University. He presented several new insights from his research on the Gurudev. The hospitality of INTACH was overwhelming and we were ensconced in a welcome warmth, so removed from the oppressive winter's chill outside.
As we dug into the customary refreshments offered to all participants, we felt filled as if with a renewed resilience and a motivation. To focus on introspecting to identify our inclinations. And then to tirelessly try to make them triumph.
