Pre-primary Co-curricular Demonstration

Learning is not the product of teaching; learning is the product of the activity of learners.

The children of Pre-school and Pre-primary were given a chance to exhibit their acumen at a special event organised on the basketball court on 23rd February, 2017. On the occasion, each child came prepared with a short presentation to showcase a skill.

The youngest choir of the School began the event with an invocation, ' Teri Hai Zameen, followed by the melodious Thandi Hawa Gungunane' and the upbeat Ten Little Indians. They were a delight to listen to and gave the event a fitting start!

Next, the children, organised as groups came forward to exhibit what they had been practising through the year. Some performed tricky yoga asanas, others, energetic dances and still others deft skating manoeuvres.

The first group consisted of little yogis who performed some elaborate asanas to the delight of the observing audience. They started with the butterfly asana. This was followed by the chakki asana, the baby posture, the half spinal twist, pawan mukt asana, bhujang asana, dhanur asana and mountain posture. It ended with the laughter posture which was a delight to watch. Each child demonstrated good flexibility and their movements were perfectly synchronised.

Next, a group of young dancers flicked their little feet to the foot-tapping number, Waka Waka bringing an African energy into The Indian School. It was exhilarating to watch our little ones steal the show.

Finally, it was time for our young skaters to perform. The children swung to smoothly put together some admirable formations for the audience. They fearlessly and gracefully made their artistic bends and slides sans slip. A commendable feat by our little ones!

Towards the end, our choir once again stepped forward to regale everyone with some fabulous numbers such as Its a Happy Day, Up and Down, Oh Be Careful Little Eyes and the lively Bum Chic Bum Bum to keep pace with the buoyant morning.

The show would not have been as entertaining if it hadnt been for our young cheerleaders who added zing to the performances with their verve. They were truly spectacular!

The display concluded with the School song.
