Pre primary meets peers at a Ukranian school online

When little hearts connect, borders disappear!

On 28 September 2026, the Pre primary students embarked on a delightful virtual journey across continents as they participated in a Global Exchange with the young learners of Dunaivtsi Lyceum N1, Ukraine.

A wave of joy and excitement filled the room as the little Indianites eagerly connected with peers in Ukraine. Proudly holding up the Indian tricolour, the children warmly welcomed their international friends, celebrating the joy of being Indianites. The session opened on a patriotic note with a heartfelt rendition of Vande Mataram, setting the stage for a meaningful exchange filled with pride, friendship and cultural sharing.

Adding a touch of pride and patriotism to the exchange, the young learners introduced their Ukrainian friends to the significance of the Indian tricolour. Zorawar, Thangliandam, and Japman confidently brought its colours to life, sharing that saffron stands for sacrifice, white for peace, and green for growth and prosperity. Their confident voices and sparkling enthusiasm beautifully reflected the pride they carry in their identity as young Indianites.

The Ukrainian students had come prepared with a delightful set of questions for their new friends. They were curious to know about the weather in India, the children’s favourite foods, India’s national symbols, and their favourite story characters. Our young learners responded with enthusiasm and confidence, sharing little glimpses of their lives, interests, and culture.

What followed was more than a virtual interaction, it was a meeting of young minds and cultures. Through questions, answers, smiles and shared experiences, the children discovered that while their countries may be far apart, they share something very special, that is, the joy of learning, making friends, and discovering the world together.

The exchange beautifully nurtured communication skills, cultural awareness, confidence, empathy and global citizenship among the young learners. It gave them the opportunity to experience the world not merely through books and pictures, but through real conversations with children of their own age.

As the virtual exchange drew to a close, our little Indianites bid farewell to their new friends from Ukraine with smiles, waving hands and hearts filled with joy. The interaction left them excited to learn more, connect more, and discover the world beyond their classroom.
