Recognition is the best motivator. We all love recognition. It is the culmination of the hard work put in by students through the academic year. Keeping this in mind, the Pre-primary Department of the Indian School observed Recognition Day on 16th July 2016 in the School Foundation Hall. This annual event is of significance as it is an important a milestone in these little lives. The event witnessed an enthusiastic gathering of proud parents and teachers. Students of class 5, Nyasa Srivastava and Manya Arora started the programme by welcoming everyone present. Ms. Bavleen Kaur, Head Teacher, Pre primary, then came forward to address the gathering. She shared her thoughts on the value of perseverance and dedication. This was followed by encouraging words from principal, Ms. Joshi.
[gallery link="file"]The ceremony began with the rendering of the Gayatri Mantra as a blessing to the young achievers. This was followed by the prize-distribution where children standing First in their sections came forward to receive their awards. Parents watched both eagerly and excited to see their wards being recognised at such an early stage in their lives! The first set of awards was for Marked Improvement. These were handed out by PTA Vice-President, Ms. Sangeeta Banerjee. The anticipation on the faces of the young achievers was clearly evident as each came forward to collect the certificate of merit. Next, the students from the Pre-primary choir presented a group song Sharing is Caring. The award ceremony, continued with PTA Secretary, Ms. Bharti Arora handing over the next set of awards for Good Helper. Students walked up enthusiastically to receive their awards for Neat Worker, Good Spoken English and Active Participant. Thereafter the choir again sang for the assembly, this time, Hum hai superstar. Vice Chairperson, Dr. (Mrs.) Nayana Goradia presented the awards for Outstanding Performance. As delighted parents clapped, the applause reverberated through the auditorium. Last but not the least, awards for Maximum Attendance and Best in Arts, Dance, Skating, Music and Yoga were handed out by Principal, Ms. Tania Joshi and Head Teacher Primary, Ms. Neena Maini. The morning concluded with the singing of the School song followed by refreshments for all. Ms. Bharti Bedi.
