PRE-SCHOOL ANNUAL DAY, 2013

The youngest batch of our School celebrated their Annual Day with a pageant from Latin America on the School play field on Saturday, 7December. Each section of Pre-school adopted, as it were, a Latin American country; for Agena class it was Guatemala, for Capella it was Panama, Delphini took the Honduras, Hercule had Uruguay and Kokab adopted Cuba!

Christmas craft done by the children was strung up to add festivity as the show began on the bright Saturdaymorning with the welcoming of the parents and the guests. Chairperson Mr. Prafull Goradia, Dr. Nayana Goradia, Mrs. Madhavi Divan, Mrs. Syeda Imam (member governing board) were present amongst us to add encouragement.

The children marched smartly to a happy rhythm from Latin America even as their teachers led them in a formation. Gaily bunched balloons carried by each contingent were freed by our special guests on the occasion.

Each section then got into position by turn, to give the audience a glimpse of the dances of their adopted cultures. The Sway, the Tamborito, the Punta, the Shuffle and the Salsa by our little 3 and 4 year olds had the audience overwhelmed, even as their kaleidoscope costumes with light layers for the girls mounted a magical visual.

Soonfollowed the races; the Pom-Pom Race, the Hat Race, the Banana Race to name a few, age- appropriate and taken from the theme. The enthusiasm was abundant and our little proud winners happily posed on the victory stands with their spoils!

The programme had been a huge learning experience for the children as they learnt not only about a new country and it's culture but also learnt social interaction from being in a larger group during the practices. The poise was amply evident!

As told by Ms. Pooja Midha.
