Pre school Hercule hosts a special assembly 'Life Below Water'

Keeping the critical importance of fostering environmental responsibility in our young minds, Pre School Hercule presented an inspiring assembly, "Life Below Water" on 4 October, 2024. The assembly shed light on the pressing issue of water pollution and its impact on marine ecosystems, aligning perfectly with Sustainable Development Goal 14 (SDG 14). The assembly demonstrated the students' understanding of their environmental responsibility, building on the School philosophy of venerating the Mother and the Father – encompassing respect for all Nature. By highlighting the inter connectedness of human actions and nature, the students showcased their commitment to protecting the planet and its valuable life.

The assembly commenced with an open-ended discussion on life under water, featuring insightful contributions from the brilliant audience: The children who spoke were,

- Advika Nishad (PS Agena) on sea horses

- Amaara Vivek Venkataram (PS Hercule) on fish

- Shanaya Garg (PS Kokab) on turtles

- Avnoor Ahluwalia (PS Capella) on octopuses

Subsequently, students donned headgear representing Mother Earth, water droplets and marine animals, piquing their peers' curiosity.

- Devarsh Sabharwal and Reyansh Gulliya presented themselves as Distressed Turtles; Sachkirat Singh, Ditya, Rishik Kumar, Vaani Pal, Gaurik Garvit Jha, and Neyansh Kumar Singh, as Swift Colourful Fish; Kavya Kapoor and Abir Sharif as Vibrant Seahorses; Atharv as Dr Octopus; 

Trina Rautela as the Friendly Dolphin; Nakul Agarwal as the Playful Jellyfish; Kyrah Narang and Animesh Pathak as Radiant Starfish; Prisha as the Voice of Earth; Rudransh Sharma, Lineysha Choudhary, and Amayra Khan as Water Droplet Angels; Advik Girdhar and Mayank Prajapati as Helpful Crabs and Kiaan Bakshi and Kavyansh Sadh as Sources of Pollution.

With confidence and poise, each young performer delivered impactful lines, highlighting the alarming consequences of water pollution. Their audience listened attentively, faces reflecting concern and surprise.

The showstopper was the mesmerising recitation of "Machli Jal Ki Thi Rani", a typically cheer filled rhyme that took an impactful, thought-provoking turn. This unexpected narrative shift sparked murmurs of understanding among the students, prompting classmates to exchange thoughtful glances.

Rudransh Sharma as a Water Droplet emphasised a resounding message: "Every small action helps keep our oceans clean".

The grand finale was a vibrant and energetic dance performance to the catchy tune of "Baby Shark", featuring Sameeksha Sagar, Kiara Chadha, and Advika Malawaliya dressed in adorable baby shark headgear. With infectious enthusiasm, they danced to the beats, spreading joy and delight, reinforcing the importance of the cleanliness of our oceans.

The audience too tapped to the beats and clapped along, singing in unison. Smiling faces and enthusiastic applause filled the hall as the students took their final bow.

Yuvakshi (PS Hercule) exclaimed, "I loved the baby shark dance!" and Gursaanjh (PS Delphini) commented, "We should keep our oceans clean!".

Coordinator Ms Simran Kaur commended the students on their outstanding performance and fin-tastic effort, reiterating the significance of collective responsibility in safeguarding our planet's precious resources.
