Pre- School visit to the Traffic Training Park
On Monday, 28th January19, an excursion to the Traffic Training Park at Baba Kharak Singh Marg, was organised for the students of Pre-School. A visit to a traffic parks such as this, introduces us to traffic rules for road safety in a hands- on manner.
We were warmly welcomed at the venue by a representative, who guided us through. She pointed out the several commonly seen road signs /symbols to the students and also explained why traffic signals are needed in the first place. She used a live demonstration and flash cards to engage the children. The visit was not only educational but was also fun-filled.
The children were excited to see the simulated pedestrian pathways, signboards and traffic lights, a foot bridge etc which were all laid out in a scaled-down measure to suit the heights of the little ones. Some of the children got a chance to ride a bicycle and a motor bike through the traffic barriers, which they thoroughly enjoyed.

While students were generally familiar about traffic rules and traffic safety from their lessons in the classroom, their visit to the traffic park greatly reinforced what they had been told in the classroom.
The young listeners were asked to remember to tell their parents and siblings at home the lessons they had learnt at the park.
