PRODIGY, 2013 for class12.
Anubha Saggar, Mlrinal Aggarwal, Parul Arora and Priyam Wadhwa of class XII participated in the 7th edition of the inter-school business-oriented event, PRODIGY'13 organised on a national level on 21 October, 2013 at Shaheed Sukhdev College Of Business Studies. This event has been designed with the objective of refining the perception and thinking of students towards management education.
We cleared the online preliminary case- solving round based on corporate social responsibility and made it to the top 60 out of 103 participating schools. We thus proceeded to compete against the top 60 schools from all over India in the Prodigy Mains at VP Chest Auditorium, North Campus, Delhi University.
Anubha and Parul brainstormed for Acumen, an intense business quiz while Priyam and Mrinal displayed their stock market prowess in Bull's Eye, a mock stock market simulation game where speculation twisted and turned the minds of the shareholders.
After clearing these two rounds,we entered the final stage of the competition- Corporate Simulation which consisted of three rounds. Having chosen fashion of the available options of electronics, hospitality and fashion industries, Anubha and Priyam made a sales' presentation which was followed by two minutes of judge's interjection. Thereafter followed a group discussion on crisis managment where our able speakers Parul and Mrinal debated on alternate solutions to enable the obtaining of top scores for our team in the fashion sector.
The last and final round was a mock press conference attended by one member of each of the top 9 teams, where questions about allegations against a certain company were posed and the representative had to reassure media persons convincingly. After those seemingly never-ending and anxious moments of waiting, the result was declared.
Our joy knew no bounds when our effort was successfully rewarded! We were awarded the third position at the national level!
Our gratitude to the Prodigy team for organsising such a simulating event for school children like us and to our teacher, Ms. Pooja Bahl for guiding us in this wonderful opportunity.
