Prodigy, 2014

Our School team from the Commerce section of our School were finalists and ranked fifth among the shortlisted 55 schools from all over India. Prodigy, 2014 organised by the prestigious Shaheed Sukhdev College Of Business Studies, Delhi University, at Vallabh Bhai Patel Chest Auditorium on the North Campus was held on 15th November, 2014.

We qualified for the final segment of this national competition by submitting a presentation on a hypothetical corporate fusion between two companies, Starbucks Coffee and Bombardier.

On the final day, a team of four students from class XI-C, divided into two teams, went to take part in the competition. While Mehar Kaur and Rohan Gupta participated in the Business Quiz, Arjun Singh Jolly and Arunima Bhutani took part in the exciting game, Stock Simulation.

The combined scores of the two teams were taken to shortlist the top 20 schools for the second round. Our School stood 5th amongst 55 teams and were awarded special certificates for this achievement.

The second round was Corporate Simulation, in which we were given 20 minutes to invent a product for the Indian market. Our product was Accu-Charge, a shoe consisting of a battery which not only massaged the foot using acupressure, but also had a provision to charge our phones, iPods etc.

We also attended a short interactive session on future options for commerce students after class XII. The event was a very challenging, informative, and enriching experience for all of us. It taught us a lot about the business world and the stock market. Really unique.
