IIT Delhi organised its annual cultural festival, Rendezvous17, from 13th to 16th October, 2017. As a part of this were several workshops by the name Robothlon that were organised by one Robosapiens Technologies for college and school students all over India.
The workshops were one-day workshops based on interesting topics like Robotics, Arduino Programming, AutoCAD, Internet of Things, Web Development (PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS), ethical hacking, Java, Networking etc. and the students could choose any topic based on their interests. They included both theory and practical demonstrations. The students were also given a free kit relating to the workshop attended.
I (Samarth Saxena class 11A) represented my School and attended the Web Development workshop. It was a full-day workshop, divided into three sessions. In the first session, the students were given an overview about web development using HTML and CSS, and in the subsequent two sessions, they were taught in detail about the basics of programming in PHP and MySQL. In addition to the topic, the students also interacted with the lecturer who was a vastly experienced personality in the field of web development. He gave the students an overall insight into the profession too.
The workshop was a mix of skills, knowledge and a hands'-on experience for students in their fields of interest. It acted as a starting point for many, who would like to pursue their computer hobbies as a career in the future.
