Report on Earth Day Class 3, 2013-14
EVERY DAY IS AN EARTH DAY
The students of class 3 celebrated Earth Day with a medley of educational and fun activities. They were informed ahead about the importance of Earth Day and then through myriad conservation- related activities which were planned for the week.
The week began with badge- making. Each child made a badge and inscribed his/ her earth day pledge on it. These are to be worn by the children through the month.
The following day, we made posters showing how can we can possible save our Mother Earth. The students were told to either find or write an appropriate verse on the occasion and then recite it for the class. Their teachers then elaborated on each one alongside.

On Day 4, the children attempted a cleanliness drive. They helped tidy the School playground as also carefully observed the corridors to ensure that they were kept tidy throughout the day. They displayed handmade banners at vantage points and picked up trash from the school playground and other places and displayed handmade banners at vantage points alerting everyone about the harmful affects of pollution and the necessity to save trees, water, electricity etc.
The weeklong programme helped students assimilate simply yet clearly that our natural resources are limited and we desperately need to use them judiciously.
