Republic Day celebrations in Pre School

A Nations culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people.

The 72nd Republic Day was observed in all its solemnity and grandeur by the students of Pre-School. A special assembly was held virtually this year on 25 January 2021 to mark the significance of the day.

Kovid of Pre School Kokab, dressed as our Prime Minister, welcomed everyone and conveyed the message Bharat Bane Atma Nirbhar Apna.

The significance of our national symbols was spoken about, by our young Indianites. Aavya of Pre School Delphini presented herself as the national flag and spoke about the significance of its three colours. Tisha sang the rhyme I salute my flag to honour the tricolour and Shubham of Pre School Hercule presented himself as the national emblem, the Ashok Chakra and talked about the four lions that represent the four directions. Mishka of Pre School Capella was dressed as our national bird, the peacock and Shivansh of Pre School Agena dressed as a tiger, talked about courage and strength. Ritanya of Pre School Kokab who was dressed as the national flower, the lotus, explained how it is the symbol of purity, enlightenment, self- regeneration and rebirth. Deepika of Pre School Agena dressed as our national fruit, the mango, talked about prosperity and abundance represented by the fruit. Gurkirat of Pre School Hercule spoke about the Banyan tree which is symbolic of eternal life.

Republic Day celebrations are incomplete without remembering and honouring our brave soldiers who gave their lives to attain freedom for their beloved motherland. Mankirat of Pre School Kokab, Gurveer Singh Devgan of Pre School Delphini and Samarth Khurana of Pre School Capella presented themselves as the heads of The Indian Air Force, Army and the Navy respectively.

Anika Kaushal of Pre School Hercule sang Nanha nunha raahi hu to lend a patriotic spirit to the assembly. The programme ended with the singing of the national anthem by the little ones.

Later, a Dance Presentation activity was conducted in the virtual classes. Jinisha Kaur of Pre School Kokab presented a dance to the song India waale whereas Kovid performed to Kadmon se kadam milte hai. Aashna, Aaradhya and Ishanvi danced to the song Desh rangeela.

In Pre School Capella, Priyal danced beautifully to a medley of patriotic songs, Ayansh Gupta performed to Teri mitti mein, Vaidika to Desh rangeela, Vihaan Kumar and Tyasha Kaur Bindra presented splendid performances to the song Rang de Basanti.

In Pre School Delphini, Janya Chauhan danced gracefully to Desh rangeela and Pranika Joshi danced to Suno gaur se duniya waalon, Prapti Shukla displayed her dancing skills to Dil hai Hindustani while Rabya Bajaj matched her steps to India waale. Rajsi Mishra chose to dance to Teri mitti and Yatharth Gupta danced to a medley of patriotic songs.

In Pre School Hercule the children danced gracefully and mesmerised everyone with their performances. Sadi Ahmad and Tashvika Grover danced to Jai ho, Maanvik Dagar to Mere watan, Manan Yadav to Dil hai hindustani and Gurkirat to Mohe rang de basanti.

In Pre School Agena Avni Raizada and Shiavngi Raizada danced t0 Vande mataram, Khanak Chhabra to Talvaaron pe whereas Shivansh Prasad and Ranvijay performed a dance sequence to the song Chak de India.

The teachers explained the significance of Republic Day and encouraged the children to keep our country and her surroundings clean, work for her welfare, respect all religions and follow rules diligently. A simple quiz relating to the national symbols was conducted to recap what had been learnt.

The beautiful celebration ended with a feeling of fulfillment in the hearts of everyone.
