School Chairman Mr Goradia enlightens classes 9 and 11 on the Israel Palestine war

On 30 November 2023, students from classes IX and XI got the special opportunity to partake in a dialogue with esteemed chairperson, Mr Prafull Goradia, on the intricate dimensions of the Israel-Palestine War.

Consistently illuminating students with his rich array of experiences, Chairman Sir generously imparts his extensive reservoir of knowledge. These dynamic exchanges offered students invaluable perspectives, exposing them to substantial matters of social, historical, political, and economic significance.

The session initiated with students raising inquiries pertaining to the conflict. Their questions delved into the historical narrative of Israel and Palestine, their international relations and the positions adopted by other nations on this matter. The students exhibited a keen eagerness to comprehend and absorb the insights offered by Mr Goradia, eagerly seeking his perspectives on the subject.

He disseminated his profound knowledge by furnishing the historical context, delving into figures such as Prophet Abraham and Prophet Moses. Illuminating significant locales like Calibury Hills, David (the inaugural king of the Israelis), the Jordan River, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, he enriched the discourse. Augmenting the engaging conversation, he shared personal anecdotes, providing a nuanced perspective.

Queries regarding the UN’s role in halting the war, the origins of animosity from certain Arab nations towards Israel’s inception, and the genesis of the UN Partition Plan (1948) were met with insightful responses. He elucidated the formation of Israel, detailing the countries involved, which intricately influenced its recognition. Touching upon anti-Semitism and the demographic shift in Jerusalem, he concluded the session by articulating his viewpoints and addressing additional queries from the now enlightened and inquisitive students.

As always, the interaction with Mr Goradia proved to be a cognitively enriching experience for students and teachers alike, endowing them with an enhanced understanding of the issue that presently captivates the global discourse.
