Common errors in math - Dr. Hukam Singh
In a sequel of celebrations on account of Science Week, School held an exclusive workshop on Common Errors In Mathematics for students of classes X, XI and XII on 16 August, 2018 conducted by the learned resource person ( former Dean and head of department of science and mathematics at the NCERT, New Delhi), Dr. Hukam Singh.

The session began with acknowledging well and lesser known Indian mathematicians who have contributed to the development of various fields and proven that our country has a rich heritage in mathematics and we need to take it ahead. He urged that the first step to this is to realise that mathematics is not difficult. The session became all the more interesting when the common misconceptions in mathematics as perceived by the students, were addressed in a very interactive manner. Some of the topics taken up by the spokesperson were as follows:
The roots of a square root term
Use of BODMAS
Modulus function
Mensuration
3-D figures
After the discussion every member of the gathering had a clearer vision of key concepts Dr. Singhs engrossing demonstrations showed how integral mathematics is in our daily lives. He also took up questions from the students and patiently explained each one It was a compelling workshop , at the end of which students were less confused and more confident about mathematics.
