Self Discovery Week Assembly by classes IX & X
On 9 April 2026, the students of classes IX and X conducted a thoughtfully curated assembly as part of Self Discovery Week, focussing on the theme, “Finding Your Passion and Purpose”. The assembly commenced on an engaging note, with Kavya Joshi and Simar Arora, of X A, warmly welcoming the audience and introducing the significance of the topic.
The programme unfolded with a motivational address by Priyanshu Modak (X A), who inspired the audience by sharing examples from the lives of renowned personalities such as Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Sachin Tendulkar and Kalpana Chawla. His words emphasised perseverance, dedication and the importance of following one’s dreams.
Adding a personal touch to the theme, Bismanpreet Kaur (IX B) spoke about her passion for playing the harmonium and singing kirtans at a gurudwara, describing how it helps her connect spiritually and experience a sense of divine presence. Vihaan Singh (IX B) shared his journey of discovering his love for cricket, explaining how his inspiration has shaped his aspiration to pursue the sport in the future.
The assembly was further enriched by a melodious musical presentation by Shourya Gupta, accompanied by Sehej Singh of class IX B on the guitar. Their performance beautifully reflected their passion for music and left the audience captivated.
Kavya Joshi (X A) then presented an insightful PowerPoint presentation on “Finding Your Passion and Purpose”. She addressed the common challenges that students face while making career choices, discussed prevalent myths and realities, and reassured students that feeling confused is a natural part of the journey of self-discovery.
Continuing the exploration of the theme, Aaryan Sehgal (X A)presented a short TED Talk by Kartikey Brahmbhatt, highlighting the importance of self-introspection and the need to avoid distractions. The talk underscored how self-awareness plays a crucial role in shaping one’s goals and decisions.
The students of class X A- Yug Aggarwal, Simar Arora, Geetika Chhokar, Aayush Patwal, Aadhya Pillai, Krishna Gupta, Urvashi Saini, Ankit Jana, also staged a meaningful skit portraying the pressure that students often face while choosing a suitable academic stream. The performance effectively depicted the impact of societal expectations, while also offering constructive ways to cope with such pressures.
The assembly concluded with an address by Vice Principal Dr Anu Singh, who appreciated the students’ efforts and commended the thoughtful presentations. The session ended on a motivational note, with an engaging interaction that encouraged students to embrace their individuality and confidently pursue their passions.
Overall, the assembly was an enriching and inspiring experience, leaving the audience with valuable insights into self-discovery and the pursuit of purpose.
