SELF DISCOVERY WEEK in Pre- primary
Our little Indianites were guided once more on a voyage of Self-Discovery as they returned to School in a brand new class. Varied activities were planned for the self- discovery week during 1 to 6 April. An attempt at self-reflection is designed to help the children take a moment from their day to think about their appearance, personalities, friends, families and perhaps their dreams for themselves.
The activities included drawing a self- portrait in a famous spot in heir adopted state. For example Lalbagh in Karnataka, the Paloem Beach in Goa, the Dwarkadish Temple in Gujarat or against the scenic beauty of coconut trees along the coast of Kerala. We were delighted by the exquisite attempts at expression on paper.

Rhymes on Myself were also taught to enhance skills of observation, reasoning, counting, recognition and visual association.
A political map of the five adopted states were given to the children to colour the state by their on the map. They quickly got an idea of where in India their state lay.
It had been a fun exercise all week discovering ourselves whilst we started to discover our School theme for the year, The Western Coast of India.
As told by Ms. Othilia Fernandes.
