Senior teachers spend time to edutain our Pre schoolers

The interpretation of dreams is the royal road to knowledge of the unconscious activities of the mind. -Sigmund Freud

Indoor and outdoor activities greatly enhance the children's confidence and spirit of independence. These help to develop various facets of personality development. The children learn to contribute, manage and organise, both individually and as a team.

The Indian School has always encouraged its teachers to embrace imagination and innovation in their teaching methodologies. One such initiative called upon the senior school teachers to teach the Pre schoolers! They successfully infused freshness into the routine teaching-learning process by planning and performing engaging, fun activities for the Pre schoolers.

Giving wings of imagination to students in Art and Craft, Mr Shankar, member of the art faculty, taught the Pre school learners to colour a tree with 3-D effects on 6 September.

Next, Ms Tanuja from the PE department had the little ones dancing to her Zumba beats in an energetic dance session.

Post the dance, the flushed munchkins settled down to a round of storytelling in Hindi and English.

Ms Priya Manchanda, Hindi faculty, narrated the beautiful story of "Hathi aur Uske Dost" in her inimical style, to foster listening and reading skills.

Ms Sonali Grover, senior English teacher, narrated the value-based story of "Bopa and his Curly Tail, " highlighting the value of being a good human being.

On 21 September, Ms Sumi, science faculty, presented a few amazing science experiments like walking water, sink and float, etc., to introduce the Pre schoolers to the magical field of science. One of the objectives of this session was to teach the little ones to become rational human beings.

Later, Ms Minoo Sethi of the math department showed some innovative videos to teach the quantification of numbers using the play-way method.

The ebullient learners thoroughly enjoyed these refreshing and enervating sessions, a fine blend of education and entertainment. They made their teachers immensely proud by beautifully cooperating with the new faces teaching them!
