Skype class with a yoga instructor in the Philippines for class 2
Yoga adds years to our lives. A few minutes of Chair Yoga to start our day can be a great way to burn extra energy that accumulates daily, in the body and mind. Yoga postures, Pranayama and meditation, are effective techniques to release stress, burn extra energy and gain positivity. Yoga not only makes the body flexible, but it also rejuvenates it and the mind.
Ms Erika English, yoga instructor from Manila in the Philippines, conducted a yoga class on Skype for the class II students of The Indian School on 7 December 2021. The little ones participated with full-on interest, enthusiasm and eagerness.
The session began by seeking the blessings of the Almighty with a prayer. Ms English commenced the session with a warm-up, and stretching exercises, followed by a series of chair raised hand poses, seated twist cat stretch, crow stretch, extended side angle and ended with the Sun salutation. The dedicated yogi guided her class of yoga enthusiasts through a series of asanas to relieve stress, gain positive energy, and enhance the body's flexibility.

Class II teachers, Ms Priya Sharma and Ms Ishleen Kaur motivated the students by highlighting the importance of making yoga an integral part of our daily lives by extending the practice of yoga beyond the mat.
In the end, the nascent yoga enthusiasts chatted live with Ms English.
The session was very refreshing, reviving and relaxing.
