Special Assembly by class IV-C on Eid
On 8 July, 2016, class IVC presented a special assembly in the School auditorium. The children of classes IV and V were able to view a special presentation on Eid by them.
Our young, able anchors, Aryamaan Goswami and Bhavya Gupta coordinated the assembly. They kept the show going smoothly with their confident coverage of the proceedings.

The assembly started with the morning prayer. This was followed by a song on Eid, prepared specially for the assembly by our music teacher. A few children then stepped forward to share facts about this important Muslim festival. Next,a skit Eidgah based on the famous story written by the famous Hindi writer Munshi Premchand was enacted by a group of children. The endearing tale is about a little boy, Hamid who lives with his aged grandma. They are very poor and he doesn't get new clothes or shoes like other children on the occasion. His grandma hands him three paise as Idi to spend in at the local Eid fair. His friends spend their generous pocket money on rides, candies and buying beautiful colourful clay toys. Hamid gallantly dismisses this as a waste of money for momentary pleasure. Instead, while his friends are enjoying themselves, he rises above his own temptation to buy himself a gift like his friend. He goes into a hardware shop and buys a pair of tongs or 'chimta' for his grandma. He feels pained when he notices how his grandma burns her fingers as she makes hot chapatis for Hamid everyday. The story ends on a touching note when Hamid gifts the chimta to his grandma. At first, she is very annoyed by what he has done. But then little Hamid reminds her how she burns her fingers everyday as she makes rotis. She is overwhelmed and bursts into tears as she clutches him tightly.
The children performed confidently and clearly narrated their dialogues.
To conclude the assembly, all the children together sang the School song.
