Special assembly by classes 1 and 2
A special assembly on National Unity Day, Dussehra and Diwali was conducted by the students of classes 1 and 2 on 31 October 2023 in the School auditorium. 25 students conduct the special assembly.
The National Unity Day assembly served as a platform to promote the ideals of unity and integrity among the citizens of India. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s contribution and to unite a diverse nation was recognised The importance of national unity and the need to work together for the progress of the country was explained in a power point presentation. It was a memorable and inspiring event. One of the highlights of the National Unity Day assembly was a heartwarming pledge taken by the young students.
The assembly continued to showcase the vibrant tapestry of India’s cultural diversity which comes to life during the festive season of Dussehra and Diwali. These two festivals hold profound significance in the heart of millions transcending regional boundaries and uniting the nation in celebration. An insightful presentation on Dussehra, the festival that symbolises the victory of righteousness over evil. The students presented a role play to tell about the ongoing battle against corruption, bullying, injustice and wrong doing to others. The festival encourages people at large to stand up against injustice, understand the importance of tolerance and harmony among peoples of different cultures.
Following the Dussehra segment, our attention turned to the festival of lights, Diwali. In today’s world, there is a need to dispel ignorance, discrimination and place emphasise on spending quality time with family and promote eco friendly celebrations. The students of classes 1 and 2 presented a skit and recited a poem with a message to celebrate an environmental- friendly Diwali.
A mesmerising dance performance marked the end of the assembly where students, dressed in ethnic attire, engaged their peers with a cultural performance. They illuminated the stage with lamps symbolising the triumph of light over darkness and the victory of knowledge over ignorance.
The assembly not only provided a glimpse into the vibrant festivals of Dussehra and Diwali but also gave an opportunity to the students and teachers to come together to celebrate the diversity of our culture and spread the message of unity, goodwill and compassion.
