Basant Panchami is an occasion which marks the advent of Spring. It is also an occasion to worship Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge and wisdom. The Pre - Primary conducted a virtual assembly to celebrate Basant Panchami on 16 February, 2021.
The assembly was held in two slots where classes Merak, Leo and Vega comprised Group 1 between 8 and 8:25 a.m. Gemini, Orion and Vega comprised the second group and presented their show from 8:30 to 8.55 a.m.
[gallery link="file" order="DESC"]The celebration commenced with an invocation to the Goddess, the Saraswati Vandana. The children welcomed the season with expressions of their heartful emotions in a poem which told of the significance of Basant Panchami. The children did a wonderful job of explaining the poem to the audience.
The most appreciable part of the assembly was the children enacting the song 'Spring is here', depicting the beauty of Basant. They were colourfully dressed as bluebirds, bees, ladybugs, butterflies and frogs. The presentation culminated with an endearing dance to the song, 'Aaya Basant Aaya'
The Spring was thus accorded a grand welcome in the mind and heart by the captivating presentation.
