Special Assembly for Dussehra by PS Delphini
Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashmi, is the culmination of the nine-day Navaratri celebrations. It is the festival that marks the killing of Ravana, by Lord Rama and the triumph of good over evil. It is also the day that celebrates the killing of the demon Mahishasur by Goddess Durga.
In our multicultural society, we need to constantly reinforce values of brotherhood, tolerance, peace, compassion and patriotism in our children. With this in mind, the students of P.S Delphini put up a special assembly on the occasion of Dusshera, on 7th October 2016.

The assembly began with Aarna Sawarn and Vihaan Sharma taking turns to talk about the significance of this festival in todays world. This was followed by a short play on the demon Mahishasur, whose character was played by Aarush Bhatti while Aarna Sawarn played Goddess Durga. It was a treat to watch little Kabeer confidently recite the lines, to entreat Lord Shiva (Kartik) to create Goddess Durga to teach Mahishasur a lesson.
The children beautifully dressed in colourful costumes confidently delivered their dialogues. Although it was the first time on stage for many, every child performed exceptionally confidently.
Finally, the assembly ended with a vivacious dance presentation by the girls of PS Delphini to the song, Jagdambe Jagdambe invoking the Goddess herself.
