Special assembly for Ganesh Chaturthi by PP Orion

Ganesh Chaturthi is observed to offer invocation to Lord Ganesha- the God of intellect and wisdom, patron of the arts and the sciences and the remover of obstacles.

On 2 September 2019, PP Orion of The Indian School celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi withmuch fun and fanfare. On this auspicious day, the children were dressed in traditionalattire which made for the mood on the occasion.

The beautifully bedecked Ganesha was carried in a procession by excited pre primers amidst cheers of Ganpati Bappa moriya!. The resplendent parade of devotees carrying aloft their eco-friendly Ganesha drew admiring looks as it made its way through the School corridors to the assembly area.

The assembly commenced with a welcome address and a brief introduction about thefestival by Mishka Sethi, our young student anchor. The pre primary choir then presented a soulful rendition of the Morning Prayer Om Gan-Ganpati Namo Namah.

An amazing dance to the popular song Oh my friend Ganesha was followed by askit- Race around the world depicting the story of Ganesha and his brother Kartikeyawho were asked to circle the world three times by their parents Shiv-Parvati. AlthoughKartikeya was faster, yet Ganesha won the race.

The skit highlighted the importance of using ones mind and intellect, of which Ganesha is a repository, as against just strength.In the end, the audience enjoyed watching the creative dance to Deva Shree Ganesha.

It was a joyous morning for students and teachers alike as they came together to celebrate one of Indias most popular festivals amidst excitement and entertainment.
