Special assembly for Gurpurab

Guru Nanak Dev was the founder of Sikhism and the first of the ten Gurus. A sense of peace and tranquility filled the air as our budding Indianites of Pre school celebrated Guru Nanak Jayanti virtually on 18th November 2021.

Guru Nanak Dev travelled widely to spread the message of oneness and compassion.

Hamreet Kaur of class 2A presented a Power point on the life of Guru Nanak Dev while Binwant Singh narrated a Sakhi (anecdote from Guru Nanak's life) from Gurudwara Panja Sahib, now in Pakistan.

The soothing Shabads- 'Thir kar beh so harjan pyare' and 'Mitti dhund jag chanan hoya' sung by Amaira Kaur Grover of class 2A, were followed by the Pre schoolers explaining the three teachings of Guru Nanak Dev.

Ripanshi Gambhir of Pre school Hercule explained the Vand Chako which teaches sharing and giving for a meaningful life. Rudransh Tiwari of Pre school Delphini explained the Kirat Karo which signifies that one should always work hard, speak the truth and do good deeds. Raaisha Luthra of Pre school Capella explained the Naam Japo which tells us that we must always remember God and thank Him for everything.

As a part of our Sanskara Syllabus, Roohani Arora of Pre school Agena explained the importance of Sewa for a meaningful life. She shared that loving, respecting and helping mankind is a symbol of one's love of God and most importantly Sewa begins at home.

The Gurpurab activity continued in the classroom where the children had fun making orange peel diyas. Celebrating festivals together demonstrates that the spirit of religion is humanity and we must all follow the path of universal brotherhood and peace.
