Special assembly for Guru Nanak Jayanti by PS Hercule

God is one, but he has innumerable forms. He is the creator of all.

As we know, the teachings of Guru Nanak, the first guru of the Sikhs, laid the foundation of Sikhism. To know more about the significance of this great Guru and his teachings, a special assembly to observe Guru Nanak Devijis 550th birth anniversary was presented by the students of Pre-school Hercule on 11 November, 2019.

The assembly started with a traditional Sikh invocation followed by a demonstration of the customary Prabhat Pheri, led by the Panj- Pyaras ( aptly played by Zohaan, Aarav, Palvit, Yuvraj and Ivaan).

The significance of Kar-Sewa was beautifully explained by our little students. Kavya, Aariz, Tia and Yashraj chose the shoe-polishing sewa, as a form of selfless service. The focus of the assembly was on Guru Nanak Devjis teachings that were, Kirat Karo, Naam Japo and Vand Chakko.

The earnest efforts of the students to showcase the values taught by the great Guru were commendable. They also presented a skit on how we can all assimilated the simple yet profound teachings in our daily lives.

Mehar played the role of a grandmother who queried her grandchildren about Guru Nanak Devji and why they have a School holiday on the occasion. The role of the grandchildren was played by Avantika, Maiara,Advita, Kushal, Lavit. Ayaan let his grandma know about Guru Nanak Devjis date and place of birth date,

The children also came up and spoke a few lines each about the teachings of Guru Nanak as explained by their teacher at School. At the end of the assembly, they promised to share their old toys and books with the needy and would always be truthful and helpful.

As a finale in celebration of the momentous occasion in history, the children matched step to some Bhangra notes.
