Special assembly for Raksha bandhan by Pre school Agena

Brothers are like streetlights along the road, they do not make the distance any shorter but they light up the whole path and make the walk worthwhile.

Festivals are observed to share special days of national or cultural importance. Rakhi is one such occasion which celebrates the brother-sister relationship. On this auspicious day, siblings affirm their affection towards each other. A simple thread tightly binds the sentiments of security and affection between a brother and sister.

Raksha bandhan brings with enthusiasm and excitement every year. The Pre-Primary department celebrated this festival on Friday, 4th August 2017.

The special assembly focused on tying of rakhis by our little students who came dressed in ethnic clothes. Girls and boys tied Rakhis on each others wrists equally, reinforcing gender equality which is a cornerstone of the philosophy of our School.

The class presented a traditional dance and sang folk songs of festivity with the other Pre school choir children, to reinforce the gaiety. The beautiful rakhis were handcrafted by the children with the help of their teachers in the classroom. Each one went home with a rakhi securely tied on the wrist. And not one missed flaunting the prize possession as he/ she headed home at dispersal time! After all it was a proud memento of a precious bond.
