Special Assembly for Teacher's Day

Teachers should be the best minds in the country. These are the words of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, great Indian philosopher and statesman. He was also President President of India and his birthday is celebrated nationwide as TeachersDay. The students of classes IV and V presented a special assembly on the occasion. The two narrators, Shruti Arora and ArinIdhant of class V took us through the program with enthusiasm and confidence! The show started with the class 2 choir paying homage with the Guru Vandana. They began with a Kabir doha to acknowledge their teachers :- , , The narrators explained that the doha places the Teacher higher than even God himself. It says that it is only because of what one learns from the Teacher that one sees God! Vani Bharadwaj then spoke briefly on the importance of Teachers Day. This was followed by Sameeksha Nair speaking about the horror of female infanticide. The choir then soulfully sang OReeChidhaiya a beautiful piece related to the theme of female infanticide.
