At morning assembly on 12th May 2017, students of class V recited a medley of poems in Hindi. It was an inter-class event. The poems selected belonged to different poets. The themes were also a variety- nature, childhood, child labour, hygiene and good citizenship. The students did a very good job. They were confident and recited in spontaneity and expressiveness. The pieces selected by the different sections were first discussed in class and their nuances explained to the children. This way their articulation of them seem to emanate from inside, as it were. The values that these timeless poems carry were easily assimilated by these young students as they learnt and then shared them.
