Special assembly on DUSSEHRA by classes I, II and III

The tenth day after Navaratri is known as Dussehra. It is the celebration of victory of good over evil. We burn effigies of the demon king Ravana who was vanquished by Lord Ram. Classes I, II and III conducted a special assembly on Dussehra on 29 September, 2014 in the School auditorium where all the classes participated.The assembly began with a warm welcome by Ananya of class I E. This was followed by Khyati, Mitali, Areeba and Naysa who spoke on the significanceof Dussehra and how it is celebrated in different parts of India. After the children spoke their lines, a rhythmichindi poem was recited by the childrenof class I which gave a vivid description of this festival. Next, the children of class IIE performed a heartwarming rendition of a few scenes from the Ramayana, of the time when Ram, Sita and Laxman were in exile for 14 years in the forest, followed by Sunderkand and then Lanka.
The children were beautifully dressed in costume and confidently delivered their dialogues. They seemed to thoroughly enjoy their parts!

  The entire class IIE participated in the choir to sing a songon Dussehra. The children wrote the song in a folk style and even chose the music!
Class III A ( Ananya, Mannsi and Reena) enlightened the audience aboutfacts related to Dussehra. This was followed by a play on the demon Mahishasur, whose character was played by Kovid Sharma. Mahishika played Ma Durga. The assembly concluded with a Durga aarti sung by the class III choir.
