Special Assembly on Eid-ul-Fitr by class IC
On Wednesday, July 30 2014, class IC presented a special assembly on Eid-ul-fitr in the school auditorium All the students of the section participated in great enthusiasm. They took the mike by turn and explained the significance of the occasion and how it is celebrated. This was followed by a skit, with the story of 4 friends. Ahmed, a Muslim boy takes his friends to home to share how the festival is celebrated. Upon reaching Ahmeds house, his mother welcomes them. After washing their hands they greeted each other in the traditional way and sat down to savour some delicious meethi seviyan amidst camaraderie.
As they stoop up to leave, Ahmeds mother handed each one sweets to take home and Eidi, a small token cash gift. The children left in delight.

The message that all festivals are equally important and that we should all participate in celebrating these, came across simply and yet age-effectively. The values of harmony, respect and friendship too found familiarity amongst the receptive little audience.
The assembly concluded with the children students reciting a poem on the festival in a group.
